Only one in ten of the arms amade actually returned. Some were doomed from the beginning, such as this one cut from a eighth inch sheet of solid lead. The penny, lower left, shows scale. The hand covered in 22 caret gold leaf. Its suprising weight gives it extra appeal but the gold makes it too tempting to pass on. It is probably festering somewhere in some guilty person's drawer.
