"The Dreamer" ,
a proposed sculpture
The
Dreamer consists of the upper half of a colossal head emerging from the
earth. The head is flattened like a prehistoric sculpture and covered
with engravings of letters, numbers, words, animals, plants, and
machinery. Its eyes are closed as if meditating or dreaming.
Above and behind the head is a shape representing a Thought Bubble. The
Thought Bubble electronically displays text and imagery. The Thought
Bubble could be a large full color LED screen capable of video and full
animation or an economical "flip" panel. Content could be
loaded in remotely via secure internet. Poets, writers, artists and
other could be invited to provide content for this screen.
Perched on the bubble is a moon capable of spectacular light shows. The
head of The Dreamer could be fabricated from various
materials such as cement, bronze, or fiberglass. The height from the
moon is envisioned to be twentyfour feet, but the sculpture could be
scaled up or down to fit the site, indoors or out.
